Shortlived's Last NZ Shoe

May 1st (this coming Friday) Shortlived will be playing their last ever NZ show. Come along and see them off. Drug Problem, Buzzkill and Psychic Jams are the supporting acts. I think it's $10 at the door and it will be starting round 7 and finishing quite early because of noise control problems.

Come to this show! it will be the last ever time you get to see Shortlived. You can see Antagonist any day.

Friday 3rd of April

Buzzkill and some other pretty sweet Hardcore bands are playing this coming Friday at Basement Bar. It's an all ages venue that also has a bar so over 18s can get drunk and the younger kids can watch! ..... or just end up outside in Myers park with a 40 (which is probably way more fun than drinking from an expensive bar).

It's only $5 entry and there will be a mixtape swap box so you can swap your fave mix tapes with other fools. So get those mix tapes done and get down to the show on Friday and get a swappin'

This will also be Blackout's last show so come along to give them a good send off.

Check out the bands before if you havn't heard them!

Afterwards there is a house party on Third Ave at Samphetamine's (Tentacles Of Destruction/ The Rat King Zine) humble abode with some sweet as fuck bands playing. Its Nu Metal Themed.... I'm going as Corey Taylor from Slipknot.

Shortlived Nation Wide Tour.

(Quoted from Punkas.com) "Wellington DIY thrashers Shortlived are putting out that rarest of all releases in this part of the world - a vinyl 12". The 14-song self-titled album will be limited to a mere 200 copies and will only be available from the band - NOT from stores - for $25.

To get a taste of what the album sounds like, you can download the tracks "I, Terrorist" (here) and "Comedian" (here) for free.

To celebrate the album release, the band are also hitting the road for a National Tour during the tail end of January, with almost all the shows booked in (nothing like the last minute!). The details so far are:

Thursday, January 22 - Yaza Cafe, Nelson (w/Basura Blanca, Nothing But Trouble) [R18]

Friday, January 23 - Otautahi Social Centre, Christchurch (w/Hatewanx, Yeti Smasher) [AA]

Saturday, January 24 - Arc Cafe, Dunedin (w/Foe, Conniption, Black Forest) [R18]

Thursday, January 29 - The Fox Den, Auckland (w/Wasteland, Hardtimes, Buzzkill and one more tbc) [AA]

Friday, January 30 - Thrash Palace, Hamilton (w/Wasteland, Gawj, Electric Mayhem) [R18]

Saturday, January 31 - Lorne Street, Wellington (w/Entrails, Malparido, Adam Smith Assassination) [AA]

After that, the band gear up once more to head over to Europe in June. Their tour there will take in places such as the Netherlands, Germany and Slovenia, plus many more besides."

My band, Buzzkill will be playing the Auckland show. Come along and have a mean time. It's only $7 entry. Bands on at 7:30-8ish.

Exhumation Recordings

It's been ages since I've posted. But I'm still here!

My good man, Josh Hughes from Bloodletting, has started a new label to help out NZ bands. It's called Exhumation Recordings. He already has a few bands on the label including my own bands, No Greater Power and Buzzkill. Other bands also on the label include - Bloodletting, Leader To Ruin, The Dauntless and Vixen Execution. Check it out. Add it. Support it. Exhumation Recordings is totally D.I.Y and is in place to basically support bands and gain exposure.

The first proper Exhumation Recordings show is a free show at PR Bar on the 6th of February. The show is in association with Bfm's Hard Fast And Heavy show. Come along and have a mean as time!

Army of Darkness
Shitripper
Blackout

SATURDAY 28th JUNE - Ellen Melville Hall (AA) - $10 - 5PM START!
Tourettes
Antagonist
Army of Darkness
Brick vs Face
Strangers
Cry Wolf

Some info from the organiser -

The shows were meant to be a benefit for Auckland Animal Action but recently the group has shut down. The funds will still be going to animal rights though, for direct action, outreach and animal rescue.

The gigs are also to draw attention to the ANZCCART (Australia NZ Council for the Care of Animals in Research and Teaching) conference which is happening the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday afterwards.

The conference is held every two years in New Zealand and is a conference for the people who torture animals in the name of "science" (also known as vivisectors) to get together. So we want to draw attention to animal testing in NZ and to try to get people to come along to the protest's that have been planned as well.

ONE OFF MILES AWAY SHOW!

http://www.myspace.com/milesawayhc

Ausie band Miles Away will be playing a one off New Zealand show on the 22nd of june 2008.

the show has two weird as parts to it... one is that it's on a Sunday.. and two is that it's in Ellerslie(suburb in auckland near remuera and mt wellington) of all places!

SO YOU MUST ATTEND THIS SHOW! it will be awesome. you can get your self some dinner from Burger fuel, Pizza Hut, Hell, the Fish and Chip shop or one of the 3 kebab shops and then get your self a fuckload of alcohol from one of the 3 bottle stores. Then you can drink where ever because there is no liquor ban! finally you can come inside and catch all of the awesome supporting acts and Miles Away!

The actual venue is really cool, nice and small for the ultimate party vibe. The owner of the venue is a really cool dude as well.

It will kick off around 6 due to the fact that it is going to be sunday and people will have work or school in the morning.

This is a must attend!

Already old news but still thought I'd biff this up here.

These guys are currently one of my favourite hardcore bands and I'm so fucking happy I get to see them:D:D

From what I've heard of their newest album "Heavier Than Heaven Lonelier Than God" I didnt like as much as their other releases, mainly because it seems like they're trying to go down a different musical path than they were before. I'll give it another go and bare in mind that bands do tend to evolve and shit. haha.

so yeah... the dates...

Anchor Promotions presents Philadelphia's...
BLACKLISTED

I'm going to be attending both Auckland shows and hopefully the Hamilton one. You should attend as many as you can! get a good name for New Zealand, so more international bands will want to bring their asses over here.
